Your Role

As a Gensler Architect, you will collaborate with our design team to develop innovative design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. You will leverage your technical acumen and Revit skills to drive client projects from concept through build in a collaborative team.

• Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver informed project solutions based on market expertise and an understanding of client goals.
• Coordinate with the project team, client, vendors, contractors and consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.).
• Resolve complex design and technical issues with the team to produce innovative, constructible solutions.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the client’s requirements, with the design team working to the correct specifications and delivering a high quality and timely product to the client.
• Participate in pre‑design tasks, including visioning sessions.
• Formulate design presentation strategies and present design concepts to clients.
• Produce graphic presentations, physical models and 3D renderings to communicate design concepts.
• Prepare full drawing sets in Revit.
• Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of the project.
• Lead more junior members of staff: motivate and ensure quality of work; ensure clear communication; understand the skills of the team and wider resources within the office.
• Review and contribute to proposals and contracts with the Design Manager.
• Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
• Involvement in office, regional and sector business development initiatives.
• Support project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them.
• Coordinate sustainability targets with project consultants and engineers.
• Implement sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
• Work collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
• Lead climate‑focused analysis and studies for each project.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• 6+ years of professional experience.
• Demonstrable work portfolio, preferably with experience in several practice areas.
• Knowledge in sustainable design principles required.
• LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA or other rating systems accreditation preferable.
• Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable. Especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and/or Net Zero Building certification.
• Demonstrate a collaborative and integrated approach towards achieving high sustainability project goals.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of building codes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Proficient in Revit and other 3D modeling software.

• Good working knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
• Good working knowledge and experience in Rhinoceros for design authoring.
• Basic understanding and familiarity with interoperability workflows between various design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, etc.
• Good knowledge and experience with real‑time rendering processes and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows.
