Position:  IT  Network Support Engineer
This position reports to the Head of I.T.

1. Ensures that the delivery of Networking Infrastructure and IT Services are monitored and maintained to the a high level of quality, standard and operability as defined within negotiated and agreed service level agreements, parameters or contracts.

2. Contributes to policy making with respect to the full range of IT matters including strategic planning, hardware and software procurement, staff development and rewards, choice of methods and standards and the marketing and selling of service and products.

3. Ensures that the necessary arrangements are in place to maintain or recover the delivery of systems and services in the event of any physical, technical or environmental disaster or major outage providing continuity of service to the client organisations.

4. Provides detailed personal advice and guidance to all users in the effective use of systems, products and technology available to them; demonstrates ingenuity in applying knowledge to non-standard situations investigating complex problem situations to diagnose underlying causes and helping users to recover or continue operation.

5. For all requests that cannot be resolved, provides an effective interface between users and service providers supplying all necessary diagnostic information, according to established procedures. Uses judgment to set priority for resolution, monitor progress and apply escalation procedures for problems not progressing satisfactorily.

6. Proposes, discusses and evaluates potential solutions with service providers and implements agreed field modifications or work-around as directed.

1. Supports the development of all the networking infrastructure, planning, specification, installation, implementation and daily operation.
2. Management of IT managed communications networks, associated equipment, infrastructure including second and third level support services while abiding with information security standards.
3. Supports the delivery of network services and ensures that service level agreements and contracts are adhered to by 3rd parties.
4. Together with other resources within the team, assists with the development and monitoring of standards, policy and procedures for systems.
5. Maintain market awareness and assess the more widely used equipment and software options available, leading to recommendations for improvement of standards and policy addressing the business needs.
6. To provide technical support services to installed systems (both on-site and off-site locations) in accordance with Service Level Agreements/business requirements and system procedures including contingency/disaster recovery trials.
7. To liaise as appropriate with Suppliers / Contractors / Managers to ensure appropriate maintenance and support to systems, correct response to fault calls and to arrange receipt and implementation of software updates.
8. To manage, monitor and appraise Junior members of staff who from time to time may be assigned as resources to the post holder
9. To assist in the management of supported systems, including installation and configuration, fault resolution, security management, performance and accounting management, maintaining configuration records.
10. To assist in the deployment of IT equipment to users and various sites.
11. To ensure that all activities are carried out to the agreed standards and to ensure that the relevant procedures are maintained and followed to meet these standards.
12. To assist in the identification and recommendation of the appropriate environmental conditions for IT installations and operations and to help ensure those conditions are provided and maintained in areas under IT control.
13. To undertake projects as and when required, including the production of project plans and the management of staff and resources allocated to the projects, ensuring that technical services elements are completed satisfactorily and to schedule.
14. To consider the wider context of the services provided in supporting the business needs, maintaining awareness of technological advances and market place developments in order to propose improved service, infrastructure or systems opportunities.
15. To provide advice and guidance to all customers on the technical standards for IT Hardware, systems and application software to support business needs.
16. To work with the other team members to establish and maintain inventories of all supported hardware and software, to include, location, configuration and quantities of each item.
17. To work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
Position Requirements
Bachelor,   5 to 6 Years work experience

Overtime: Payable as per Saudi Laws
