Job Purpose
The People Cost Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling employee‑related costs to ensure alignment with the organization’s workforce strategy, budget, and financial targets. The role supports informed decision‑making through accurate cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting while ensuring compliance with internal policies and governance frameworks.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational
- Develop the annual people cost budget, including salaries, allowances, benefits, and incentives.
- Support workforce planning by translating headcount plans into cost projections.
- Monitor actual people costs against budget and identify variances and trends.
- Analyze employee‑related costs and provide insights on cost drivers, efficiency, and optimization opportunities.
- Prepare regular people cost reports and dashboards for management.
- Support scenario planning related to new hires, restructuring, promotions, and compensation changes.
- Ensure people cost activities comply with approved budgets, policies, and Delegation of Authority (DOA)
- Review and validate cost implications of P&C initiatives such as salary reviews, bonuses, and benefits changes.
- Support internal and external audits related to people costs.
- Work closely with P&C, Finance, Payroll, and Business Leaders to ensure alignment between workforce plans and financial forecasts.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on people cost implications and budget availability.
- Support leadership with data‑driven recommendations related to people cost decisions.
- Support system enhancements related to people cost management (e.g., SAP, HRIS, reporting tools).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in people cost management, workforce costing, financial planning, or related roles.
- People cost budgeting and forecasting
- Workforce cost modeling and scenario analysis
- SAP / HRIS data analysis and reporting
- Financial analysis and variance reporting
- Understanding of compensation and benefits structures
