Overview
Production Manager at Bidfood Middle East. Responsible for overseeing the entire production process, from the sourcing of raw seafood materials to the final processing, packaging, and delivery of seafood products. Ensure production runs efficiently, meets quality standards, adheres to health and safety regulations, and is cost-effective. The Production Manager works closely with quality assurance, supply chain, and logistics to ensure smooth operations and consistent product output.
Responsibilities- Production Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and implement production plans based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders. - Coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines while optimizing resources (labor, equipment, and materials).
- Manage production capacity, ensuring that all production goals are met in terms of volume, quality, and timing.
- Process Management and Optimization:
Oversee the entire seafood production process, ensuring operations are carried out efficiently and according to established processes. - Continuously evaluate production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement.
- Implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Quality Control:
Ensure that seafood products meet quality standards and food safety regulations at every stage of the production process. - Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to enforce quality checks and product inspections, including handling, processing, packaging, and labeling of seafood.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any quality issues during production, working with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Inventory and Resource Management:
Oversee inventory management for production materials, including raw seafood, packaging, and supplies. - Work with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure materials are available on time and in the right quantities to meet production needs.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Budget and Cost Control:
Assist in the development of the production budget, ensuring that production costs stay within budgetary constraints. - Monitor operational expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure efficient use of resources without compromising quality.
- Track and control production costs, including labor, materials, and overheads, while meeting production targets.
- Productivity and Performance Monitoring:
Track production metrics and KPIs (key performance indicators) such as production output, yield, quality, and efficiency. - Analyze production data to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports for senior management on production performance, issues, and recommendations for improvements.
- Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in production management, ideally in the seafood or food processing industry. - Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of seafood production processes, food safety standards, and quality control techniques. - Leadership:
Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in managing and motivating production teams. - Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify production challenges and implement effective solutions. - Communication
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various departments and report to senior management. - Time Management:
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle production schedules, team coordination, and problem resolution. - Attention to Detail:
High attention to detail to ensure the production process runs smoothly and meets quality standards. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in using production management software, data analysis tools, and other production-related technology.
- Education:
A bachelor’s degree in food science, industrial engineering, business management, or a related field is typically required. - Certifications:
Certifications in food safety (HACCP, GMPs, ISO 22000) and production management (Six Sigma, Lean Management) are highly desirable.
