The Traffic Control Center Operations Specialist will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of traffic management centers using real-time data and ITS infrastructure. This includes setting up operating protocols, managing inter-agency coordination, and supporting emergency response and system performance. The role is vital to achieving safe, efficient traffic flow and timely incident resolution across Dubai's growing transportation network.
What You'll Do- Monitor daily activities of the Traffic Control Center and ensure systems are fully operational
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for 24/7 center operations
- Coordinate with emergency responders and regional traffic agencies for unified incident management
- Operate and optimize ITS technologies such as CCTV, DMS, and traffic detection systems
- Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation
- Analyze traffic data and incidents to recommend operational improvements
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and collaborative problem-solving
- Conduct readiness assessments of equipment, staff, and protocols to ensure continuity
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or Emergency Management
- 10 years of relevant experience in traffic control centers or ITS operations
- Strong command of traffic management software and systems
- Proven experience in multi-agency coordination and emergency response
- Ability to lead under pressure with excellent judgment and situational awareness
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Experience working in high-traffic urban environments or mega projects preferred
