WORK DAYS: June 8, June 15-18, June 22-25;
Prior to ESY sessions there will also be prep and planning time.
WORK HOURS: 7:45 am - 2:45 pm
REPORTS TO: Principal/Assistant Principal, Summer School Coordinator, and/or Special Education Administration.
SALARY: Per the REA contract, $49.52 per hour;
Includes mandatory meetings, planning time and supervision of students before and after school.
OTHER INFORMATION: May be multiple positions available.
We believe that all students can learn and that motivating students is an essential part of teaching. Students in these programs are invited to participate because they are at risk of not meeting proficiency.
Qualifications- Minnesota Special education teaching license required.
- Previous ESY experience preferred.
- Regular, on‑time attendance is required.
- Successful special education teaching background required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Familiar with students at the site.
- Demonstrated Educational Leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
- Primary Special Education contact for building Assistant Administrator.
- Collect attendance for students in ESY.
- Participates in planning prior to start of program.
- Prepares student classroom assignments and monitors enrollment and utilizes OLA for attendance.
- Directs and helps manage behavior and discipline.
- Coordinates and supervises student use of facilities, bus transportation, and related issues.
- 13 student contact days, attendance and bus communication, and mandatory planning/meeting time.
- Serves as parent contact for students in ESY.
- Use and promote instructional strategies as defined by academic program.
- Provide safe and positive learning environment.
- Use data to make decisions regarding instruction and interventions.
- Develop relationships and encourage positive self‑efficacy for all students.
