We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and sustain automated functional test systems for DoD and international defense customers. The primary focus of this role is radio test system development with heavy emphasis on programming NI LabVIEW applications for automated testing.
The role includes system design, test automation, and providing guidance to early-career engineers. Occasional travel may be required to support installation and commissioning at customer facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and debug software for control and automation of test and measurement equipment using NI LabVIEW.
- Continuously improve measurement algorithms and reporting to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and staff to evaluate measurement techniques.
- Participate in developing new software architectures to maximize reuse, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Port existing test applications to new platforms.
- Support existing orders, proposals, and project growth initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers.
- Bachelors Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience (or Graduate Degree with 4+ years, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree).
- Proficient in NI LabVIEW and Test Stand.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP) and experience with Radio/RF communication systems.
- Object-Oriented Programming & Design (OOP/OOD)
- Familiarity with software management tools (SVN/GIT, JIRA)
- RF and baseband test and measurement experience
- Experience with test equipment:
Spectrum & Network analyzers, Power Meters, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Audio analyzers
