Job Summary

The Structural Foam Process Technician is responsible for the safe start‑up, shut‑down, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the structural foam molding process during average production runs. The role includes setting up molding machines, performing tooling changes, collecting and analyzing production and quality data, and collaborating with shift leadership and maintenance to reduce downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Perform tooling changes, including setting dryers, thermometers, and processing functions according to schedule.
  • Ensure first‑piece inspection is complete and product conforms before releasing the line to full production.
  • Monitor running machines, keep process documentation up to date, and make adjustments as required.
  • Identify issues related to material, tooling, or machine and troubleshoot in a safe manner.
  • Work closely with shift leadership and maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for structural foam and assist the Process Engineer to meet molding specifications.
  • Sustain the 5S program and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Perform other job duties as directed by supervision.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of all functions of the molding process.
  • Two years’ experience as a process technician or mold setter.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment.
  • Capacity to work overtime as needed.
Knowledge & Training
  • Good mechanical skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Understanding of quality and safety practices.
  • Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ISO sections relevant to the position.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Handling, grasping, and manipulating materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

This position is classified as non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable law.
