This work involves duties designed to assist the Associate Principal with routine administrative details. The assistant may also perform tasks for other administrators, assumes responsibilities when absent, and provides assistance to other divisions. The role includes contact with staff, students, parents, and the public, and requires understanding overall school operations and exercising initiative.
Employees work with established systems and procedures, exhibit organizational skills, and exercise independent judgment and confidentiality in the performance of duties. The position requires initiative, collaboration, and a team approach to accomplish the district mission.
Position Expectations- Provide administrative support for the Associate Principal with daily oral and written communication tasks.
- Provide general school-related information.
- Communicate verbally and electronically with staff, students, and families.
- Facilitate student registration process.
- Perform tasks to support the Assessment Center.
- Perform duties associated with being a member of the 12‑month team.
- Monitor board budget accounts and procurement cards.
- Coordinate and organize school-wide events and awards.
- Ensure operation of office equipment.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance job performance.
- Cultivate inclusive and equitable relationships with staff, students, and community members.
- Provide administrative support for instructional needs – materials, professional development, testing, observations, and tutoring.
- Support the English Learner Program.
- Manage staff attendance and substitutes.
- Coordinate sixth‑grade assignments and evaluation schedules.
Assist with professional development, institute days, and teacher–parent organization.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to lift or move supplies, materials, and office equipment up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and move frequently around the building.
- Organize and prioritize workflow.
- Proficiency in computers, office practices, procedures, and office equipment.
- Project a positive image of the district and maintain a positive employee attitude.
- Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills and communicate clearly and respectfully with students, staff, parents, visitors, and the public.
- Awareness of a variety of student needs, including physical and social‑emotional needs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and public‑relations skills.
