The MnDOT Office of Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV-X) provides technical expertise and project management for connected and automated vehicles (CAV) projects, intelligent transportation system (ITS) projects, and emerging technology projects. This position will have technical engineering and project management responsibilities for CAV/ITS projects, reporting to the MnDOT CAV-X program.

• Provide technical expertise and project management for CAV, ITS, and emerging technology projects within MnDOT s CAV-X program.
• Develop and manage scopes of work, research, project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and project management plans.
• Manage project communications and stakeholder engagement for each project.
• Support the implementation of CAV and ITS strategic plan initiatives.
• Coordinate with MnDOT and external partners on ITS, CAV, and systems engineering activities.

• Licensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity. (If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
• Experience managing transportation projects.
• Experience applying engineering principles, practices, techniques and methods.
• Experience analyzing engineering information, identifying problems and recommending solutions.
• Experience coordinating and/or directing the work of staff and/or consultants.

• A bachelor s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited college/university; and two years post-graduation civil engineering work; OR
• A master s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited college/university; and one year of post-graduation civil engineering work.

• A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Experience managing transportation projects.
• Experience applying engineering principles, practices, techniques and methods.
• Experience analyzing technical information and identifying problems.

• Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history checks.
