Job Title: Test Engineer

Pay rate: $50 Per hour

Type: W2 contract

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Location: Fully onsite

Job Description

We are looking for a Test Analyst to execute test cases in a controlled medical device environment using ALM (Open Text/Micro Focus). This role involves interoperability testing between devices and IT systems, validating outputs, and accurately recording results.

The candidate will execute structured test cases, analyze outcomes at the application level, and collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and ensure successful test completion.

Must-Have Skills
  • 2–3+ years of QA/testing experience in a structured environment
  • Strong attention to detail (accurate pass/fail documentation)
  • Experience executing test cases using ALM or similar tools
  • Basic troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers to resolve test issues
  • Comfortable working in a lab/on-site testing environment
Nice to Have
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated environments
  • Exposure to interoperability, networking, or IP-based testing
Position Summary

The Contract Test Engineer is responsible for executing interoperability test cases for medical device systems. This role focuses on validating data exchange, integration workflows, and conformance to healthcare interoperability standards. The position emphasizes hands‑on test execution, defect identification, and accurate reporting within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities Test Execution & Support
  • Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms
  • Confirm data exchange workflows (e.g., device-to-system, system-to-system) for accuracy, completeness, and reliability
  • Record test results, capture logs, and document defects with clear reproducibility steps
Interoperability Validation
  • Perform testing aligned with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles
  • Validate message structure, data mapping, and end‑to‑end transaction workflows
  • Verify system behavior under normal and exception scenarios (e.g., malformed messages, dropped connections)
  • Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability, data integrity, and system integration
  • Support root cause analysis efforts by providing detailed logs and test evidence
  • Re‑test fixes and support regression testing cycles

Configure and utilize test tools, simulators, and mock systems to emulate interoperability scenarios.

Assist in maintaining test environments and connectivity configurations.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate and traceable test execution records in ALM/test management systems.

Provide daily and weekly status updates on test progress, issues, and risks.

Support audit readiness through proper documentation practices.
