Job Description
Join GE Vernova Power Conversion in Rugby, UK, where you will play a critical role in upholding our commitment to quality and operational excellence. This position offers an opportunity to significantly impact our supply chain and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a Quality methodology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities with suppliers, encompassing all five phases:
Plan and Define Program, Product Design and Development, Process Design and Development, Product and Process Validation, and Feedback, Assessment & Corrective Action. - Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to define and improve supplier quality processes.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement improvement plans.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and component quality.
- Travel approximately 60% of the time to supplier sites, primarily within Europe but occasionally further.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Sole British citizenship with the ability to obtain national security vetting clearance to SC level.
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience with 8D or similar methodologies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Availability for domestic and international travel, mainly within Europe.
- Valid UK Driver’s license.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Significant experience in APQP and Supplier Quality within Defence, Aerospace, or other regulated industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with relevant sector quality standards and experience in stakeholder engagement and communication, such as with government and MoD interfaces.
This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements, it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
