We are seeking a Logistics Operations Specialist to drive both competitive differentiation and profitability as the company grows into new markets.

Position Summary

The Logistics Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of inbound and outbound freight operations, including scheduling, carrier communication, and rate management. This hands‑on role plays a key part in ensuring materials, components, and finished goods move efficiently through the supply chain while optimizing cost, transit time, and service quality. Additionally, the Logistics Operations Specialist will contribute to the sales growth of the company by leading the end‑to‑end logistics value proposition when onboarding new customers.

This position reports into the Supply Chain Director and collaborates cross‑functionally with sales, purchasing, and warehousing teams to align logistics activities with company objectives. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a keen eye for efficiency, and a continuous improvement mindset focused on operational excellence and cost optimization.

Kay Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute daily logistics operations for inbound and outbound freight, including LTL, FTL, and overseas container shipments.
  • Work closely with sales, purchasing, and warehousing teams to align shipping schedules with order fulfillment, material flow, and inventory requirements.
  • Plan and schedule shipments to ensure on‑time delivery and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or documentation errors.
  • Negotiate and manage freight rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers to ensure competitive and reliable transportation options.
  • Instruct the WSD warehousing team to optimize outbound shipping packaging to improve efficiency, reduce freight costs, and enhance product protection during transit.
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics such as freight spend, carrier performance, and delivery lead times; identify and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and customs documentation for both domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Analyze freight and logistics data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and support supply chain decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Director to develop and refine logistics processes, tools, and KPIs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across logistics, warehousing, and transportation operations.
  • Support the sales team with the end‑to‑end logistics strategy when targeting new customer acquisition.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination (manufacturing or distribution environment preferred).
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international freight operations (LTL, FTL, ocean, and air).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple departments and managing carrier relationships.
