How you make a differenceAs a Certified Medical Assistant, you play a crucial role in patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses. You assist nurses in various activities, leveraging your education and competencies to support high‑quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, implementing established policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care.
- Gather patient history, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow‑up.
- Adhere to designated work schedules, respond effectively to codes or patient crises per site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
- Prioritize infection control techniques and principles to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain working areas, supplies, and equipment, and attend mandatory staff meetings/training.
Education
- Successful completion of an accredited CMA course.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the state if required by the state or facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team at Kane County Jail. This position works Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
