Non-Instructional Special Education Paraprofessional (Part‑Time) – Milwaukee Scholars
Position located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Milwaukee Scholars Charter School. The successful candidate will work part‑time, providing non‑instructional support to students with special needs under the guidance of the special education team.
Job SummaryThis position is scheduled for 30 hours per week. Duties include building rapport with students, assisting with individualized education plans (IEP) or 504 plans, and maintaining a safe, conducive learning environment.

- Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their IEP or 504 plan.
- Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
- Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
- Implement result‑driven curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities, serving in resource rooms, inclusion, or pull‑out settings.
- Attend professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required.
- Assist with required compliance documentation.
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications (preferred).
- Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
