Position: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern
Location: St. Louis

Description

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world‑class supplier of power generation services, parts and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.

Job Type

Internship – candidates may be hired for a summer internship or as part of a co‑operational program.

Role Overview

This role will help support the EHS Manager in promoting a safety culture consistent with the values of the organization. The intern will assist in ensuring that the facility meets all regulatory compliance requirements for safety and environmental.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists with the retention of training documentation
  • Assist with creating weekly all‑shop safety meeting topics in addition to weekly department meeting topics
  • Conduct focused evaluations and facility inspections
  • Assists with event learnings, corrective action development and completion
  • Conduct environmental audits for compliance requirements
  • Conduct job hazard assessments
  • Work with employees and managers to develop safe solutions for identified hazards
  • Participate in projects focused on improving safety and efficiency
Requirements
  • Graduate or Undergraduate student majoring in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety, or Industrial Hygiene
  • 2+ years relevant experience with a safety credential (OHST, CHST, GSP or similar qualification) or EHS related degree with relevant experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Critical thinking skills
