Northern Iron – Lawton Standard is looking for a Quality Engineering Technician & CMM Programmer to join our team. This dual-function role blends hands‑on inspection and CMM programming with broader quality engineering support to ensure product quality, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement across the business. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to analyze data, support inspections, and improve processes in a collaborative, family‑oriented environment.

- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Pay: $35 – $40 per hour, depending on experience
To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.
Key Responsibilities include:CMM Programming & Operation
- Create, modify, and optimize CMM programs using software such as PC‑DMIS or Zeiss Calypso
- Run CMM inspections to measure manufactured components with high precision
- Perform dimensional inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished products
- Use manual inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Analyze inspection data and document results accurately
- Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), PPAP documentation, and other quality reports
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify quality issues
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Contain and disposition non-conforming material
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Gage R&R studies
- Develop and implement improved inspection methods and process enhancements
- Create and maintain quality instructions, alerts, and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.)
- Assist with calibration and maintenance of CMMs and other inspection equipment
- Proficiency with CMM programming software (PC‑DMIS, Zeiss Calypso)
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex blueprints
- Knowledge of quality control principles, SPC, and quality management systems
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred
- Quality certifications (ASQ CQI or similar) a plus
