How Will You Make an Impact?
The System Engineer will provide engineering deliverables to support new product development projects for medical devices developed in conjunction with our customer partners in a fast‑paced environment. The System Engineer will develop systems engineering deliverables such as requirements, product architecture, and risk analysis and be a key team member working closely with the customer’s team.
Location:This role will be based on‑site at our St. Petersburg, FL - JIC facility, which is an office/medical device production lab environment, and will split time between office work, lab work, and production/build support.
Relocation assistance will be offered to any qualified/non‑local talent seeking assistance. This is not a hybrid role. On‑site presence is needed.
- Requirements management and development
- System architecture definition including interface definition and interaction diagrams
- Risk Management including DFMEA
- Concept Development including evaluation and selection
- Technology / key component selection
- Oversee HW/SW integration
- Work with product verification team for test method development
- Participate in prototype build activities
- Root cause investigation of technical issues
- Be customer facing and interface with the customer’s technical team
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering (or related discipline) is required
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience in medical device product development
- Experience managing entire design cycles from concept to production
- Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training
- Solid critical thinking and decision‑making skills
- Clearly communicate complex information especially with the management team
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of the medical device standards and regulations such as IEC 6060
- Experience/exposure with using Modern Requirements or similar requirements management tools
- Experience/exposure with using APIS or similar DFMEA tools
- Experience/exposure with Mat Lab / Simulink
- Manufacturing process development
- Experience/exposure with Vascular, cardiovascular, electrophysiological, peripheral, or neurovascular catheter system design including:
- Extrusion, assembly, tipping, bonding, pull‑wire/steering mechanisms, sensor integration, balloon catheters, ablation/energy delivery systems
- Familiarity with ISO 10555
