Role Overview

Our client is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director to serve as Head of AI Platform Strategy and Execution. This role will report directly into the SVP of AI. This leader will define and scale the firm's enterprise AI platform across machine learning, generative AI, and agentic task workflows. The role is responsible for aligning AI capabilities with business priorities, establishing platform standards and governance, and ensuring disciplined execution across a portfolio of complex initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience in financial services technology, with deep expertise in AI/ML platforms, generative AI architectures, and emerging agentic frameworks. This individual must combine strong technical fluency with business acumen, portfolio management discipline, and executive communication skills.

They need someone who is knowledgeable in AI, specifically building systems and able to talk to both hands‑on developers and execs to shape and coordinate. Need someone who is mature in their career that can think strategically. First 6 months will be mapping out a roadmap on what the capability will do for folks internally and clients outside to use. Need a hands‑on, strategic thinker from a financial background.

We are creating scale that thousands will use. They will be an individual contributor with maybe 1‑2 direct reports down the line.

• Large enterprise company experience, preferably prior FS industry experience, no small shops.
• Technical acumen centered around AI technologies.
• Leadership skills, people skills and understanding of project lifecycle.
• Visionary with experience providing AI strategy to other companies.
• Own the PM function within David's group; need both project and program management skill sets within IT and AI space.
• Clear and concise communication skills, not overly verbose; ability to articulate at a high level strategy and vision.
• Hands‑on but also creative and innovative with thoughts and ideas.

Expert level.

Contract to Hire position based out of St. Petersburg, FL. Hybrid position.

Hourly pay range: $100.00 – $138.00/hr.
