The Role:

We are looking for a Robotic Piece Picking (RPP) Systems Engineer to play a critical role in shaping and scaling Auto Store’s robotic piece picking solutions. This is a subject matter expert with hands‑on technical role that sits at the intersection of customer engagement, system architecture, and execution.

In this role, you will act as the primary technical authority for robotic piece picking solutions, working closely with customers to understand their operational challenges and translating those needs into robust, scalable system architectures and enhancing RPP product portfolio. You will be the technical lead from concept through deployment, ensuring alignment across robotics, software, controls, and integration teams.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex real‑world automation problems, leading technical conversations with customers, and turning advanced robotics into reliable, production‑ready systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Integration
  • Own system‑level technical intent from early design through deployment, ensuring alignment across engineering, deployment, and operations teams.
  • Define system architectures covering interactions between robots, AI and optimization layers, control software, and external systems.
  • Design and document integrations with customer IT systems, including WMS, WCS, WES, ERP, and other automation platforms using APIs, events, and data models.
  • Collaborate closely with robotics, software, controls, and deployment engineers to validate technical feasibility and system behavior.
System Architecture
  • Serve as the primary technical expert for robotic piece picking engagements, working directly with customers to understand their business objectives, operational flows, and constraints.
  • Translate customer requirements into end‑to‑end system architectures that balance performance, scalability, cost, and risk, while aligning with Auto Store’s robotic piece picking product portfolio.
  • Support pre‑sales team to analyze customer operations to evaluate optimized robotic piece picking solutions.
  • Evaluate system architectures based on value, cost, functionality, feasibility, and operational risk.
Sales, Proposals, and Competitive Positioning
  • Support pre‑sales activities by presenting technical solutions in a clear, engaging, and credible manner to customers.
  • Lead technical discussions during customer workshops, solution reviews, and competitive evaluations.
  • Provide technical context and differentiation during competitive comparison discussions.
Deployment and Operational Support
  • Support system configuration, testing, validation, and operational readiness, including UAT and performance testing.
  • Analyze system performance data, logs, and operational metrics to identify bottlenecks, edge cases, and improvement opportunities.
Documentation and Standards
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as system diagrams, process flows, solution descriptions, and requirements specifications.
  • Contribute to design standards, best practices, MRS and project documentation for robotic piece picking solutions.
Key
