OverviewThe Unit Nurse Manager supervises nursing care personnel assigned to designated patient care wards, ensuring quality care 24hours a day, 7days a week. The role includes hiring, evaluating, and resolving grievances for staff, providing nursing input to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, monitoring care, teaching skills, developing resources, and assisting with policy and procedure updates.
Responsibilities- Supervise nursing staff and oversee all nursing operations within the unit.
- Handle hiring, disciplinary actions, evaluations, terminations, and initial grievance resolution.
- Provide nursing input to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and monitor patient care quality.
- Educate staff, develop resources, and contribute to policy and procedure development.
- Facilitate communication and interdisciplinary problem‑solving.
- Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse’s license.
- At least three years of nursing experience, including supervisory and/or teaching roles.
- Knowledge of nursing techniques and therapeutic interventions for patients with mental illness.
- Experience in supervisory techniques, personnel management, and nursing administration principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and serve as a positive role model.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and clear written and verbal communication.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and ability to apply them accurately.
- Proven track record of building effective working relationships with diverse individuals and teams.
- Experience implementing initiatives to advance health equity and reduce systemic disparities.
- Compliance with abuse check, criminal records, and driving records requirements at time of hire and throughout employment.

Tree2 (all‑male patient unit).

Equal Pay Analysis will be conducted upon hire. The listed salary is the non‑PERS qualifying range; PERS‑qualifying employees will receive an additional 6.95% adjustment. The position is classified as employee (not PERS qualifying). The agency does not offer visa sponsorship. New hires must complete I‑9 documentation and work authorization verification within three days of hire. Applicants requiring sponsorship will not meet the eligibility standards.
