Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical authority in materials science, chemistry, and/or biomedical engineering, supporting product development, technology advancement, and lifecycle management activities.
- Lead and execute complex, high‑impact technical work independently, from problem definition through solution implementation.
- Design, interpret, and defend experimental strategies, data packages, and technical justifications used for development, verification, and regulatory support.
- Drive innovation through original research, new material concepts, formulations, or processes, with a focus on performance, manufacturability, safety, and compliance.
- Translate scientific findings into actionable engineering decisions and clear recommendations for cross‑functional stakeholders (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing).
- Act as a mentor and technical role model, raising the technical rigor and effectiveness of project teams.
- Communicate technical results effectively through clear written reports, presentations, publications, and patents.
- Demonstrate a strong results‑oriented mindset, consistently delivering against aggressive timelines and business priorities.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a top‑tier (top 20) university.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience following completion of Ph.D.
- Demonstrated record of technical excellence, evidenced by peer‑reviewed scientific publications and issued patents.
- Proven ability to apply scientific depth to real‑world engineering and product development challenges.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- 10 or more years of experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience working under regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO, MDR).
- Track record of translating research into commercially viable, compliant medical products.
- Experience contributing to or leading cross‑functional technical initiatives.
- Driven, disciplined, and highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and bias for execution.
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability—delivers results, not just ideas.
- Excellent communicator who can influence without authority and engage effectively with senior technical and business leaders.
- Curious, rigorous, and resilient—comfortable operating in ambiguity while maintaining high technical standards.
