The Pool Assistant Superintendent is the primary onsite leader responsible for managing all phases of swimming pool projects, from initial excavation through final client handover. This role serves as the critical link between the office‑based project management team and the jobsite field crews, ensuring that high‑end swimming pools are built safely, on time and within budget.
Field Supervision & Project Coordination- Assist in managing day‑to‑day construction activities across multiple jobsites
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors (excavation, steel, plumbing, gunite, decking)
- Ensure work is completed on schedule and in accordance with project plans and specifications
- Anticipate bottlenecks/roadblocks and report to project management team
- Maintain clear communication with the General Manager, project manager and project stakeholders
- Monitor job site safety and enforce company safety standards
- Conduct quality control checks at each phase of construction
- Travel is required throughout the San Antonio and Hill Country regions
- Perform skilled installation work, when requested, including tile, coping, and other finish components
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving construction challenges in the field
- Support punch list completion and final detailing to meet Galaxy Custom Pools’ quality standards
- Ensure all installed materials meet design intent and craftsmanship expectations
- Ensure strict adherence to design specifications and building codes
- Serve as a professional point of contact for homeowners during construction
- Communicate progress updates and address basic client questions in the field
- Represent Galaxy Custom Pools with professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
- Uphold company standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and job site organization
- Ensure adherence to construction processes, permitting requirements, and inspections
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and field operations
- Serve as a professional point of contact for homeowners during construction
- Communicate progress updates and address basic client questions in the field
- Represent Galaxy Custom Pools with professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
- Uphold company standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and job site organization
- Ensure adherence to construction processes, permitting requirements, and inspections

- Constantly work near moving equipment and machinery that are considered hazardous
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Consistently works in varying weather environments, where work surfaces are dusty and high noise levels may require hearing protection
- Ability to walk, stand on concrete floors, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, and move with flexibility in work hours and days based on production requirements
- Potential electrical, mechanical, chemical, and heat hazards are also present
- Ability to talk and hear at normal levels and have visual acuity for close and distance vision
- 5+ years of experience in pool construction or related construction field
- Proven experience supervising job sites and coordinating subcontractors
- Hands‑on experience with tile, coping, or similar finish work
- Strong understanding of pool construction processes (excavation through plaster)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience with custom or high‑end residential pools preferred
- Knowledge of materials such as travertine, glass tile, and specialty finishes preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus and preferred
- Report to work at assigned time
- Work efficiently and effectively with all employees and clients, respecting team dynamics and individual responsibilities
