Job Overview
Full‑time Clinical Research Nurse (RN) – San Antonio, TX. Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm. No weekends, on‑call, or major holidays.
Job DescriptionProvide nursing care for patients receiving cutting‑edge oncology treatments in the clinical research setting. Manage the patient journey from enrollment through completion of the trial, ensuring adherence to protocol and patient safety.
Responsibilities- Work closely with physicians to identify and screen potential patients for clinical trial participation.
- Present trial concepts and details to oncology patients while conducting the informed consent process.
- Assess patients for adverse events and/or changes in condition.
- Provide staff and patient education regarding management and administration of investigational product.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation and data entry to meet trial requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between clinic departments to ensure proper trial conduct.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) and current RN license in the state of practice.
- Current BLCS or ACLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year RN experience.
- OCN certification strongly preferred.
- CCRC or CCRP certification preferred.
- Oncology or research experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; preferably in oncology.
- Minimum 7 years of nursing experience; preferably in oncology.
Work environment may expose employees to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations available.
Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for long periods. Occasionally lifts items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing.
