Job Title: Preclinical Formulation Scientist (Contract)
Pay Rate: Up to $44/hour
Shift: Full-Time, First Shift (Core Business Hours)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Preclinical Formulation Scientist for a 1-year contract assignment. This role will primarily focus on analytical testing in support of preclinical formulation development activities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on industry experience and be able to contribute immediately with minimal ramp‑up time.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- Perform qualitative and quantitative analytical testing of drug substances and formulations using HPLC/UPLC methods.
- Develop, prepare, and characterize simple and enabling preclinical formulations for multiple routes of administration.
- Execute preclinical formulation development studies, including formulation screening, stability assessment, and shelf‑life determination.
- Conduct small‑molecule polymorph screening.
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation of laboratory activities.
- Analyze and interpret data; contribute to technical reports and team presentations.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands‑on laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong hands‑on experience with HPLC/UPLC analytical methods for drug substance and formulation analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established laboratory procedures and work independently with moderate supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
Note:
Candidates must have sufficient industry experience to “hit the ground running.” This role is not open to entry‑level candidates without applicable hands‑on experience.
- Experience performing small‑scale crystalline identification screens.
- Familiarity with characterization techniques such as PXRD, DSC, TGA, and polarized light microscopy.
- Experience supporting or executing development or manufacturing of amorphous solid dispersions.
