Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer - C++ (San Diego, CA)
You will work on the development of Intravascular Ultrasound Systems. As a member of an international cross‑functional team, you work closely together with electrical engineers, transducer engineers, software engineers, system engineers, and ultrasound engineers.
Responsibilities:- Being a key contributor to the development of medical capital equipment. Architect, design, and develop embedded software for intravascular ultrasound systems.
- Interfacing with multi‑disciplinary teams consisting of marketing, hardware, software, catheter design, and manufacturing to refine design requirements for next generation intravascular ultrasound devices.
- Create software requirement specifications, software architecture documents, and detailed software design documents.
- Design and debug firmware for embedded processors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, and other electronic components using C/C++.
- Generating and releasing design documentation per production development procedures.
- Leading, generating and conducting formal verification and validation plans for completed designs in collaboration with Quality and Regulatory.
- Conducting technical design reviews with the project team(s) and independent subject matter experts across the company.
- You have 5+ years' experience in software/firmware development preferably in the field of medical electronics.
- Industry experience creating detailed design documentation (specifications, design descriptions, verification and testing plans).
- You have earned a BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- You must have experience with C/C++ (design and coding) for embedded applications. FreeRTOS experience preferred.
- You would benefit from familiarity with cardiac and vascular catheterization procedures, tools, and terminology desired. Knowledge of digital signal and image processing would be a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, in order to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates.

This is an office‑based role. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company’s facilities.
Compensation and Benefits:The pay range for this position in CA is $128,520 - $.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long‑term incentives may be offered.
