Responsibilities
  • The Project Controls Specialist, serving in a high-level support role, is accountable for supporting the Project Control Lead and Capital Program Management team to deliver and complete capital projects on time and within budget.
  • Accountability:
    The Project Controls Specialist is accountable for the creation, management, and reporting of project schedules, including developing schedule templates, schedule quality reviews, adherence to company standards, schedule baseline monitoring, and schedule status updates.
  • The Project Controls Specialist is also accountable for maintaining accurate cost-loaded schedules through close coordination with the Project Controls Lead, the Capital Program Management Team, and construction contractors, achieved by effective time management, knowledge of project scopes, and expeditious issue resolution.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include set-up in Trimble Unity Construct (formerly e-Builder), data analysis, log reviews, reports, creation of Work Breakdown Structures linked to Cost Breakdown Structures, development and maintenance of scheduling and cost reports, cash flows, forecasts, and dashboards; supporting project execution plans; assisting with engineering, procurement, construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control; responding to technical questions from the project team;

    documenting changes to cost reports or forecasts; reviewing project and contingency costs; supporting external audits; presenting cash flow reports; applying logic in schedules; monitoring resource loading; supporting project planning and in-progress meetings; ensuring reporting formats; preparing pre-programmed scheduling reports and backups; consulting with the project team on schedule progress; evaluating scheduling methods and techniques; performing schedule what-if scenarios; and performing quality checks on project control deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field and 5 years of direct project control experience required
  • Prior experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating, and document control required
  • Accounting knowledge preferred
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Experience with Trimble Unity Construct (e-Builder) preferred
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those schedules with engineering and procurement activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Must be willing to travel as required by project needs. Travel can be up to one overnight stay per month and up to two days per month; may include standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, reading, writing, color determination, speaking, and listening for extended periods of time.
