Assistant Controller

We are partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed technology company in San Francisco that has scaled to a 9-figure revenue run rate with 15x year-over-year growth

The company recently hired a VP Controller and is now building the accounting organization and infrastructure to support the next stage of scale. This Assistant Controller will serve as a key partner in that build — working directly with leadership to design the systems, processes, and controls that support a rapidly expanding business.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational ownership with strategic build responsibilities.

• Partner with the VP Controller to design and implement scalable accounting processes and policies
• Build the internal controls framework to support growth financing and external audit readiness
• Lead preparation for the company’s first external audit
• Support development of multi-entity accounting structures and consolidation processes
• Assist with financial infrastructure required for international expansion

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and key accounting analyses
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and supporting financial systems
• Support revenue accounting and wallet reconciliation processes tied to the company’s digital platform

• Evaluate current accounting systems and lead future ERP and financial system implementations
• Improve close management, AP workflows, and financial data processes
• Build scalable reporting and accounting workflows to support a high-growth environment
• Help recruit, develop, and manage the accounting team as the organization grows
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Data, Product, and Operations teams

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA strongly preferred
• Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or national firm) with audit experience
• Experience building or scaling accounting processes in a high-growth company
• Exposure to systems implementations, multi-entity environments, or consolidations
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a build environment
• Comfortable working in-office 5 days per week in San Francisco
