Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Full time employee role.

Location:

Hayward, CA – onsite only. Citizens or Green Card holders only. Compensation: $85K - $115K/year.

Our client seeks a talented Senior Quality Engineer with a minimum of four years’ experience making parts for the Semiconductor and Aerospace industries. This position reports to the Quality Engineering Manager. You will ensure their parts are made with as little risk for defect as possible.

How will you do this? By means of two approaches:

• Proactively, you will establish quality requirements and controls that govern how work gets done on the floor.
• Reactively, you will perform postmortems and RCCAs for jobs in which those requirements and controls failed to prevent non‑conformances. When you find the QMS flawed or deficient, you’ll work on improving it.

You will work as a liaison between quality assurance, control and mechanical engineering.

You must bring:

• 4+ years’ experience in an equivalent or similar role.
• Experience working in a MACHINE SHOP or SHEET METAL SHOP.
• Experience making components for the Semiconductor and Aerospace industries.
• A deep understanding of the various quality control methodologies for manufacturing commonly employed.
• Basic current understanding of the metal manufacturing world including, but not limited to, punching, forming, welding, machining, and assembling.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and people skills.
• Attention to details (no mistakes please!). No politicians and no shitty attitudes.

Current work experience:

• Experience with RCCA – currently using.
• Experience with one or more of PPAP, 8D, NC/CAPA, and SPC.
• Experience reading and understanding machine blueprints and GD&T.
• Basic Solid Works skills, Advanced MS Office skills.
• High mix/low volume parts manufacturing as a must – not making the same parts or components over and over again but building unique items.

What you will be doing:

• Use client’s QMS to ensure quality throughout the shop.
• Keep up, improve, and evolve the company’s quality operations.
• Work with customers and vendors on all things quality.
• Execute various Quality Engineer responsibilities and functions as directed by the Quality Engineering Management.
