Position: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNPs) or Physician Assistant (PAs)

Overview

Naph Care is hiring Nurses Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our team of medical professionals in San Luis, Arizona
, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Yuma
- Arizona Department of Corrections

.

Pay rates range from $65.00 to $71.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.

Full Time and Part Time positions may be available!

As a Correctional Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged, including assessing, diagnosing, treating patients with various medical conditions and chronic illnesses, prescribing medications, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting physical examinations, developing treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
  • Managing acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
  • Administering medications and providing instructions to patients.
  • Monitoring and documenting patient health including vital signs and medical histories.
  • Providing direct patient care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and coordinating services.
  • Responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities.
  • Educating patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
  • Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and well‑being.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and reporting relevant information.
  • Conducting rounds and evaluating patients returning from off‑site treatment.
  • Admitting and discharging patients from the facility.
Qualifications
  • Advanced nursing education (Master's or Doctorate).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner; must hold an unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in Arizona.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Appropriate collaborative agreement with the on‑site Physician.
  • Active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
  • Certification in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws and regulations, and procedures for direct health care services.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a correctional facility or acute care center is a plus.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
  • Maintenance of confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information; adherence to a Code of Conduct and all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
