Daher's Sandpoint, Idaho site is a key U.S. aircraft manufacturing and support location specializing in the hand‑built production of the Kodiak aircraft family. The facility supports final assembly, painting, inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities for the Kodiak 100 and Kodiak 900, serving commercial, multi‑mission, and public‑service customers worldwide. In addition to manufacturing, the site provides comprehensive aircraft maintenance, technical support, and quality oversight, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and customer requirements while expanding production capabilities and reinforcing its role as a center of excellence for rugged, mission‑ready turboprop aircraft within Daher's global network.
We’re looking for a Structures Aircraft Design Engineer to join our Product Engineering team and support the type design of all Kodiak aircraft
. This role spans production support, fleet sustainment, and new product development
, working in compliance with 14 CFR Part 23
.
- Support aircraft production through manufacturability improvements and non‑conformance substantiation
- Develop and release 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Perform structural analysis to validate design changes and repairs
- Investigate and resolve structural issues from the field
- Develop customer‑driven design improvements and structural repairs
- Contribute to new aircraft models and future product development
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Certification, and Engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering
- 5+ years of aerospace industry experience
- Strong background in aircraft structures and certification (14 CFR Part 23)
- CAD expertise (Siemens NX preferred)
- Proven experience with classical structural analysis methods
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- FEA tools and methods
- FAA/EASA delegation experience
- Composite and metallic structural repairs
- Aircraft manufacturing and certification support
- PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred)
The compensation range is $80,000 to $95,000 base salary plus an annual target bonus. Any prospective offer will take into account the overall experience the successful candidate brings to the role.
