Position: HVAC Commercial Service Tech ($3000 SIGN ON BONUS)

HVAC Commercial Service Technician (Sign‑On Bonus: $3000)

Strada Services is hiring a Commercial Service Technician to test, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring safety and code compliance.

Job Summary

The technician will work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to repair and maintain heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, including chillers, heat exchangers, fans, pumps, and electrical components. They will also provide preliminary sketches, cost estimates, and work with outside contractors to meet state and federal code requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, modify and repair HVAC systems and equipment, including reciprocating chillers, rotary screw chillers, heat exchangers, fans, pumps, and controls.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures.
  • Create preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctioning systems.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems for hazards or defects and advise management of hazardous equipment.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with job specifications and local codes.
  • Perform installation of mechanical systems, including piping and modifications to existing facility cooling systems.
  • Utilize and update blueprints, technical manuals, manufacturer files, and other records.
  • Monitor work done by outside contractors for code adherence and report to supervisor.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on packaged units, split‑coil systems, air compressors, pumps, air handlers, air‑cooled condensers, and other refrigeration equipment.
  • Carry out duties that may be assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ensure troubleshooting of single‑phase and three‑phase installations.
  • Work with tablet, laptop, or desktop devices.
  • Maintain a clean driving record (no more than 3 points in 12 months).
  • Pass a pre‑employment drug test.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Perform basic math calculations.
Education & Experience
  • Three to five years of related experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods standing, crawling, and climbing.
  • Lift 45 pounds at times.
