Contract Process Engineering Manager (Manufacturing)

Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 (Contract)

A specialized manufacturer of safety cutters and precision blades is seeking a hands‑on Process Engineering Manager to evaluate, optimize, and modernize manufacturing processes across press stamping, heat treating, and blade grinding operations. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who can challenge existing workflows, implement data‑driven improvements, and gain cross‑functional buy‑in to drive measurable performance gains in a safety‑critical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead process engineering across blade grinding and cutter manufacturing
- Improve workflows, reduce waste, and improve cycle times and quality
- Implement SOPs and best practices across operations
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues with cross‑functional teams
- Mentor operators, engineers, and production staff
- Promote safety and regulatory adherence
- 3–5 years of leadership in Process/Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong background in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering
- Experience optimizing high‑precision manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and team alignment skills
- Grinding, machining, metal fabrication, or blade production
- Lean, Six Sigma, SPC
- Safety‑critical manufacturing experience
