Position: Summer Youth Employment

The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following summer employment positions:
Dumont Technical Institute – 1 FT Position

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with student recruitment
  • Ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources
  • Preparing monthly reports on activities conducted
  • Other duties as assigned
Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment – 2 FT Positions

Responsibilities:

  • Special projects
  • Office coverage
  • Representation of GDI at provincial events
  • Organizing resources
  • General office duties
  • Travel throughout the province required
  • Other duties as assigned
Gabriel Dumont Institute Culture & Heritage – 1 FT Position

Responsibilities:

  • Researching
  • Museum maintenance
  • Material production
  • Ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources
  • Preparing monthly reports on activities conducted
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Applicants must be youth aged 15–30. The ideal candidate would be Métis, possess excellent public communication skills, good report writing skills and general computer skills. A valid driver’s license is an asset. These positions are funded under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
