We’re looking for a Director of Sales & Marketing to join Al Faisaliah Hotel in the vibrant heart of Riyadh.

As a Director of Sales & Marketing you will identify international and local opportunities and formulate and implement appropriate sales, marketing and communications strategies to maximise revenues in rooms, catering & meetings. You will drive awareness, exposure and coverage of Al Faisaliah Hotel in both local and international media. You will also provide strategic advice and direction to food & beverage and spa in the positioning and marketing and of these departments.
The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for the following duties:
To formulate and implement Sales & Marketing strategies to maximise room revenue and achieve the objectives of the business.
To be fully accountable for the day to day management of the hotel sales teams, catering/event sales teams, communications and Marketing teams by providing effective leadership and guidance to all colleagues working within these areas.
To monitor and effectively manages the performance of direct reports and team members to the required levels expected of both the hotel and company to ensure the desired business goals are achieved.
To be responsible for formulating an annual Sales and Marketing Plan.
To review & propose worthwhile overseas trade and travel functions for the team to promote sales as well as the overall image of the hotel.
To continually analyze and implement actions to address local and international market changes. Together with the General Manager, to agree programs that may be executed to address these changes. Where appropriate, these programs should be implemented through the Director of Sales and Director of Communications.
Together with the Director of Communications create and oversee the advertising, public relations and social marketing plan.
Work hand-in hand with Public Relations and Marketing Communications team in formulating and implementing strategies for publicizing the hotel in local and international markets through various media and through marketing partnerships.
Direct Catering and Conference Service Sales Team in identifying market opportunities for increasing the revenue produced by group meetings, functions and outside catering services; as well as to provide advice and support to Food & Beverage and Spa Department to increase revenue.
To work closely with Director of Revenue Strategy to formulate and implement effective room rate strategies for different market segments.
To meet and entertain influential clients and ensure there is effective follow-up on all discussed details; as well to organize and accompany familiarization site inspection trips of the hotel by major clients;
To be responsible for the strategic direction and operation of the Sales, Group and Events, Marketing and Communications Departments.
To be accountable for achieving the hotel’s rooms RevPAR, average rate and occupancy targets, as specified in the Marketing Plan.
What we are looking for:
Must have an extensive Sales, Marketing and Leadership experience. Extensive knowledge off all sales segments and correct deployment for each is a must requirement.
Knowledge/appreciation of Hotel Revenue & Distribution Management philosophies as well as Hotel Sales philosophies and initiatives.
Comprehension of technical and managerial applications of Reservation, Sales, PMS and Revenue systems including but not limited to SMS, SynXis, IDeaS and Delphi.
Comprehension of the reservation sales processes for Hotel.
Comprehension of group sales processes and group sales demands.
Strategic approach towards maximizing revenue through use of historical data and analysis of the marketplace.
Able to develop and implement effective plans to maximize revenue in all segments.
Able to develop and manage hotel’s Budget for the current and future years.
Analytical approach to problem solving utilizing data to make conclusions.
Able to analyze financial statements, revenue reports, and market data.
Strong leadership skills. Effective time management, communication and presentation skills.
Strong strategic, analytical and forecasting skills. Able to develop objectives and make strategic decisions and recommendations based on facts, market trends and experience/knowledge.
Ability to present ideas in a well-organized manner and creative problem-solving skills.
High energy level, self-motivated, articulate and presentable. Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced environment.
