JEA Preschool of Savannah is a 3 Star Quality Rated program with Georgia's Bright from the Start program. We serve children ages one and walking to 5 years old (PreK). We have developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor environments and are a play-based, inclusive program. A strong emphasis is placed on the social and emotional development of children. Problem solving, self-regulation, and conflict resolution are important life skills that children will learn while here.
We are open Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:30 am to 6 pm
Position Overview:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. The teacher will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, demonstrates strong classroom management skills, and values collaboration with families and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities aligned with program goals and early learning standards.
* Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
* Provide individualized support to meet the diverse needs of children, including varying developmental levels and learning styles.
* Foster positive social interactions and model respectful communication and problem-solving skills.
* Observe and assess children's development, maintaining accurate records and communicating progress with families.
* Collaborate with co-teachers, aides, and administrators to ensure high-quality programming.
* Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with families through regular communication and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications:
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (or actively working toward a degree) preferred.
* Previous experience working with young children in an early childhood setting preferred.
* Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.
* Clear DECAL Bright From The Start fingerprint background check (performed at time of hire)
Schedule & Compensation:
* Part-time: 20 hours/week, with a flexible schedule to be determined at time of hire.
* Compensation based on experience and qualifications ($15-$20 an hour).
