Senior Business Analyst (Manufacturing & ERP)

Location: Schaumburg, IL (Onsite/Hybrid as required)

Rate: $70-75/hr

Duration: 6+ month contract

Interview: 1–2 rounds via MS Teams

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in manufacturing operations, process mapping, and ERP systems. The role serves as the bridge between business operations and technology, focusing on process optimization, system alignment, and ERP value realization across manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Analysis & Mapping
    • Lead end‑to‑end process discovery across production, planning, procurement, quality, and logistics.
    • Develop As‑Is/To‑Be process maps using BPMN, swimlane diagrams, and value stream mapping.
    • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
    • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder working sessions to validate processes and drive alignment.
  • ERP Analysis & Implementation Support
    • Gather, document, and validate functional business requirements for ERP configuration and customization.
    • Translate requirements into functional specifications for technical teams.
    • Support system design, UAT planning, test script development, and defect triage.
    • Act as functional SME across ERP modules including Production, Inventory Management, Procurement, MRP/MPS, Quality, and Finance integrations.
  • Manufacturing Domain Expertise
    • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, MRP II, and discrete vs. process manufacturing principles.
    • Support production scheduling, shop floor control, BOMs, routings, capacity planning, and work orders.
    • Partner with plant managers and operations leaders to align ERP capabilities with real‑world constraints.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Create clear documentation including BRDs, FRDs, gap analyses, process narratives, and decision logs.
    • Present findings and recommendations to executive and operational audiences.
    • Manage competing priorities and facilitate resolution of process/system design conflicts.
    • Benchmark current processes against industry best practices.
    • Support change management, training materials, SOPs, and user guides.
    • Monitor post‑go‑live performance and recommend optimization opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 5+ years supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or Infor.
  • Strong experience with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing concepts: BOMs, routings, MRP, inventory control, shop floor operations.
  • Proven ability to lead requirements workshops with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Exposure to discrete, process, mixed‑mode, or engineer‑to‑order manufacturing.
  • Background working for an ERP consulting or implementation partner.
