Job SummaryThe mission of the Gaming Service Technician is to troubleshoot, service, and repair video gaming equipment at customer establishments throughout the service area. The technician responds to service calls, resolves customer issues, and supports management in maintaining strong customer service within the region. The successful candidate must be 21 years or older, have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, and pass Illinois Gaming Board and Illinois Department of Professional Regulations requirements which includes fingerprinting.
Job Responsibilities- Respond to service calls for equipment repairs in an efficient manner by prioritizing calls according to urgency and current location.
- Identify and prepare all equipment in collaboration with Compliance and Service teams under the direction of the Regional Operations Manager.
- Identify and troubleshoot all malfunctions and perform necessary repairs of electronic gaming devices and equipment.
- Install, inspect, and test electronic gaming devices, hardware, equipment, and associated systems as required for efficient, continuous business operations.
- Interact with clerks, management, and customers to resolve issues as they arise.
- Complete all necessary documentation for device entry and logs.
- Ensure quality and integrity of all incoming and outgoing equipment.
- Identify and communicate inventory needs for equipment to ensure minimal downtime and rapid turnaround of product.
- Follow all department, company, and state policies and procedures.
High school diploma or GED.
Qualifications and Experience- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience troubleshooting/repairing video gaming terminals (VGT's) preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Proficient in the use of electrical instruments (i.e., gauges, meters, etc.).
- Ability to read, write, and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Strong electronic/mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, managers, and across departments.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands include walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and frequently using hands and fingers to handle or feel or reach with hands or arms. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Environmental conditions range from 50°F to 90°F, with a moderate noise level.
TravelTravel within the region is expected for this position.
