ABOUT THE ROLE:Nulo is looking for an experienced Sales Director to join the company’s industry‑leading sales team. You will assume management responsibilities for Nulo products in the Eastern US. The primary responsibilities are to customize brand strategies and develop a strong retail presence of Nulo products with key customers and distributors in the Eastern US market. The focus of this position is to develop brand awareness, product placement and revenue growth.
The position requires strong leadership to engage customers and partners at the highest level and develop your team. As Sales Director, you will develop and execute customer‑specific 5P plans (product, place, price, promotion, and POP) to achieve Nulo’s goals of increased sales, share and margin, while spending within guidelines. In collaboration with Nulo sales leadership, you will formulate and execute a strategic plan to ensure success in the market.
Additionally, it’s expected that you conduct a market tour with each of your 5 RSMs once per quarter. This role does require travel, especially in year
1. Ideally this candidate will live within 1 hour of the Philadelphia airport. (Philly, Wilmington, DE, Trenton, NJ or similar location).
- Create integrated full‑year business plans to achieve Nulo’s annual sales and contribution margin goals utilizing a mix of marketing tactics, merchandising & demo programs, sales promotions and off‑shelf exposure through collaboration with Account merchant and marketing teams.
- Take a leadership role driving the Planning Process for the country. Develop POG recommendations with fact‑based analysis, SKU prioritization and brand priorities resulting in better space productivity and ideally justifying additional space each year with Key Accounts.
- Take a leadership role driving annual Terms/Joint Business Planning meetings with Key Accounts during which alignment on COOP/marketing investments are set for the following year consistent with Nulo’s business and financial priorities.
- Develop and maintain high visibility with key decision makers at each account in order to advance Nulo’s business opportunities.
- Provide ongoing insights to Nulo leadership team on business channels. Evaluate business trends, shopper insights and competitive activity using customer consumption and other available data.
- Lead and implement customer meetings to influence support of Nulo’s go‑to‑market plans.
- Establish strong relationships with Nulo HQ and external field teams. These relationships depend on mutual trust and integrity in order to achieve the expected results.
- Customize tailored shopper programs working with Nulo’s marketing team, using Nulo’s brand strategies to drive incremental retail sales.
- Use multiple data sources to create fact‑based selling stories, in order to influence key stakeholders to drive towards both Nulo and the Account’s joint business objectives.
- Collaborate with Nulo’s VP of Sales & Nulo’s Retail Marketing team to execute the Nulo retail brand strategy within budgeted investment guidelines.
- Conduct in‑person monthly performance and planning meetings with Accounts to review actuals and to identify incremental opportunities to drive the business.
- Connect the dots – you have a pulse on the big picture to identify areas of opportunity for products and merch/marketing programs, develop account‑specific strategies that incorporate consumer insights, and have an awareness of competitor activity to deliver against your business objectives.

- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 7 years in sales roles or related experience.
- Pet industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working with syndicated services (Nielsen, IRI, and account‑specific data sources).
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite proficiency (PowerPoint, Sheets, Slides, Docs).
