If so, the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) wants to meet you! We are excited to welcome a Maintenance Repairman 1 to deliver top notch trades services throughout our facility.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those who relish outdoor assignments and possess a strong work ethic.
As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will primarily focus on providing trade services related to the repair and preventative maintenance of equipment and infrastructure within the nursery grounds. This will encompass mowing grass with lawn care equipment, installing and maintaining signs and gates, snow removal, and setting up kiosks throughout the state forest lands. Your duties will also entail various wood and table shop projects.
Furthermore, you will participate in nursery operations such as seeding, weeding, and spraying, as well as collecting tree seeds and assisting with shipping seedlings. Additionally, you will support wildfire suppression efforts by maintaining equipment and participating in related activities.
- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
