Boeing Global Services (BGS) Supply Chain Engineering is looking for an Equipment & Tool Engineer to join their team in Seal Beach, CA. The role involves providing tooling support for spare parts procurement across multiple Boeing and McDonnell Douglas commercial airplane models, partnering with Senior Tool Engineers to develop our tooling strategy for out‑of‑production tooling, and collaborating with engineering work streams, third‑party logistics, and international business partners.
PositionResponsibilities
- Assist internal and external suppliers and customers with tooling‑related fabrication questions
- Process quote backup sheets with required tooling and technical data for procurement of out‑of‑production product lines
- Interrogate engineering/tooling drawings and CAD models to understand tool geometry, employing knowledge of GD&T and the Cartesian coordinate system
- Apply knowledge of common manufacturing processes (casting, machining, forging, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending, welding, molding, composite lay‑up, assembly) to support supply chain
- Understand part commodities, build strategies, and typical tool types used for each commodity
- Conduct periodic tool inspections and audits as required
- Articulate technical details related to fabrication methods and required tools
- Apply basic understanding of Loft Engineering and master tooling to control aircraft configuration
- Use Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Travel up to 10% of the time, domestically or internationally as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience in tool/equipment engineering or tool manufacturing
- 3+ years of experience with CAD/CAM applications (e.g., Mastercam, Catia V5, Unigraphics)
- Experience in an equipment or tool engineering role
- Familiarity with Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft engineering product structure
- Experience with REDARS, CATIA, NX, SAP
- Experience with tool cost estimating or disposition strategy
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes for quick‑response tooling
- Experience in a production environment and ability to learn in a fast‑paced setting
- Collaboration skills with engineering and mechanics on the factory floor
- Project management knowledge and strong communication skills
100% onsite at the Seal Beach, CA facility. 1st shift. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Pay & BenefitsThe total rewards package includes competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Eligibility for benefits may vary based on location and hiring date. The published pay range for this role is $111,350 – $150,650.
