10 is looking for a temporary, part-time educator to assist the Career Connected Learning and Life Skills (CCLLS) Team. The CCLLS's goal is to help young people find their purpose and prepare them to thrive in their careers and adult lives through a unique blend of research, educational programming, and philanthropy. We are looking for a temporary part-time educator to help the CCLLS Team lead a Youth Leadership Cohort (YLC).
The YLC is a 4-week program where 14 to 18-year-olds gain workforce readiness skills and develop a philanthropic project proposal.
As a temporary part-time Educator for the YLC, you will support the program developer in running the program, including pre- and post-program tasks. This includes but is not limited to:
- Co-facilitating workshops
- Giving guidance on participants' philanthropy projects
- Coordinate with guest speakers
- Assist with other needs as assigned
Administrative Duties
- Monitor and respond promptly to email and text communications from cohort participants, guardians, and guest speakers. Follow up with the program developer as needed.
- Track participants' hours and follow up with individualized support as needed.
- Primary contact for guest speakers, inside and outside of foundry
10. Respond to guest speaker's needs and make sure the room is set up on the day of. - Coordinate the lunch delivery and food needs throughout the program
- Co-facilitate workshops to help participants build workforce readiness skills.
- Co-facilitate community-building activities and team check-ins
Requirements
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in education, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years experience facilitating programming with high school aged students from diverse backgrounds including those who may be disengaged from school.
- Experience coordinating administrative or program logistics, including scheduling, communication tracking, and event or meeting support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter whose able to work independently and collaboratively with others
- Strength based perspective and growth mindset when working with youth
The hourly rate is $45 per hour for 5 weeks (at approximately 32 hours per week, except for program debrief week) with the following schedule:
- Pre program:
June 29 through July 2, 9am - 5pm - Program delivery (9am - 5pm)
- July 6 through 9
- July 13 through 16
- July 27 through 30
- August 3 through 6
- Post program debrief: 5 hours total during the week of August 10
- Mondays & Tuesdays: the foundry
