SALARY: $17.25, per hour
REPORTS TO:
Youth Educator Specialist
LOCATION:
Omak, Youth Development Program Basic Functions:
The SYEP provides work experience, job readiness skills, and training needed to gain full time employment. Youth accepted into the SYEP shall be temporary employees as provided for under the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s Employee Personnel Manual (EPM) and subject to the EPM’s provisions unless otherwise provided for in these Guidelines. The SYEP will pay a minimum wage not to exceed a total of 40-hour work week within the five (5) week program up to a maximum of 200 hours.
An employer may extend the employee beyond these maximum requirements, but the SYEP shall not pay for cost resulting from that extension.
Follow The Colville Tribe’s Indian Preference in Hiring Policy; (Preference will be given to High School Junior and Seniors);
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
Must be a high school student ages 14-18 on the first day of employment
Provide proof of Certification of Indian Blood, Birth Certificate, Social Security card, State , School License,Must attend workshops to participate. Please wait to fill out application during workshops!!!!
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be age 14 – 18 on or before start date (07.07.2026)
Note:
Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
