Role OverviewThis role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. The position focuses on supporting the development of spacecraft fluids, structure, avionics, and harness designs as part of a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Responsibilities- Prepare and evolve design layouts, create and maintain detailed part and assembly drawings using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Support engineering teams in developing mechanical layout and detail design drawings for structural, mechanical, fluids, and electronic detail parts and assemblies.
- Apply relevant company design, drafting, and parts techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs, including detail, assembly, and installation drawings or datasets.
- Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
- Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
- Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world‑class engineered products.
- Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, demonstrating pride in all work and willingness to perform low‑level tasks when needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
- 4+ years proven experience.
- Knowledge of standard fluids and avionics components.
- Knowledge of brackets and secondary support structures.
- Experience with harness, tube, and pipe routing in Creo.
- Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.).
CA applicants: $34.39 – $48.14 per hour.
CO applicants: $31.53 – $44.13 per hour.
WA applicants: $34.39 – $48.14 per hour.

Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training. - Required for certain Job Profiles:
Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre‑employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical.
