Location: Rainier Valley Community Development Fund (RVCDF) Corporate, Seattle, Washington

Overview

The Lending Specialist / Coordinator at RVCDF plays a critical role in supporting loan servicing, underwriting coordination, and operational functions of the organization’s lending programs. This position ensures accurate loan administration, supports compliance with CDFI and regulatory requirements, and provides high-quality service to borrowers and internal stakeholders.

This role works cross-functionally with the Portfolio Manager, Commercial Underwriter, and Business Operations teams to ensure efficient loan processing, strong portfolio performance, and alignment with RVCDF’s mission of community development and equitable access to capital. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities Loan Servicing and Administration

Process loan payments, advances, and payoffs accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain and update loan records within Downhome Solutions and support future monitoring through the Loan Portal.
  • Ensure all loan files are complete, organized, and up to date for servicing and audit purposes.
Compliance and Reporting
  • Ensure adherence to CDFI program requirements, internal policies, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with reporting requirements for federal programs (e.g., CDFI Fund) and internal impact metrics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, reporting, and compliance reviews.
Customer and Community Support
  • Respond to borrower and internal team inquiries regarding loan status, payments, and account details.
  • Provide exceptional, mission-aligned customer service to borrowers and community partners.
  • Support borrowers engaged in projects that align with RVCDF’s community development goals.
Operational Support
  • Monitor loan accounts for delinquencies and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Track insurance, licensing, and collateral requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Support collateral management and documentation tracking.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to support loan monitoring and relationship management.
Underwriting Support (in collaboration with Underwriter)
  • Assist with compiling borrower information, organizing financial documents, and maintaining accurate credit files.
  • Coordinate document collection and track loan conditions, deadlines, and closing requirements.
  • Follow up with borrowers and internal staff to ensure timely completion of underwriting conditions.
  • Assist in preparing and uploading loan packages for Loan Committee and Board review.
  • Support collateral tracking and documentation throughout the underwriting and closing process.
Business Operations Support (in collaboration with Business Operations team)
  • Provide administrative and operational support across lending and servicing functions.
  • Assist with internal workflow coordination, documentation systems, and process improvements.
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives to enhance efficiency and borrower experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to CDFI values and community development.
  • Experience in home mortgage lending is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with loan servicing systems and banking operations.
  • Knowledge of CDFI programs, commercial lending products, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven financial institutions.
Working Conditions

This position is primarily office-based, with some travel required for site visits and meetings. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines or attend organizational events.

Compensation
  • Annual Salary Range: $72,000 – $85,000
  • Equivalent Hourly Range:
    Approximately $34.60–$40.85 per hour (based on full-time schedule)
