About the Role

King County Metro’s Talent Acquisition team is seeking to fill one full‑time Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Talent Advisor (HR Analyst) to help us recruit and hire a talented, diverse workforce to meet the current and future needs of our growing and changing organization. This recruitment is open to current King County career service employees who have successfully passed, or will have passed, their probationary period in their current career service position at the point of offer. The duration of this Special Duty Assignment (SDA) position will be up to six months with the possibility of extension. This position will support the Rail Division with their hiring efforts.

Additionally, this recruitment may be used to establish an eligibility list for future SDA vacancies within King County Metro’s Talent Acquisition team. The eligibility list will be retained for 12 months from the posting date and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule

This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 40‑hour work week. Variations may be required depending on the demands and training needs of the work.

Work Location

The incumbent will have a hybrid work schedule and may work remotely and onsite. The primary onsite location is King Street Center, 201 S. Jackson Street, Seattle, Washington. On‑site support may also be required at Rail, which includes Rail’s Operations and Maintenance Facility Central (OMFC) at 3407 Airport Way S, Seattle WA 98134, Rail Operations and Maintenance Facility East (OMFE) at th Ave NE Bellevue WA 98005, and/or any other locations based on business needs.

Teleworking

Requirement

The Talent Acquisition team works in a hybrid model, with a mix of days telecommuting and working in the office. In‑office work may include meetings, administrative tasks, and assignments based on business and operational needs. The ratio of remote to onsite work is subject to change; we are currently anticipating to go in office at least 3 days a week. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department’s hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County‑issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
