Control Room Operator - Reports to:
Production Superintendent - Shift: Rotating 12‑hour shifts (4 on/4 off; swing from days to nights each month)

- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
- Monitor control room processing systems through CRT monitor utilization and adjust processing parameters to maintain product specifications as outlined by the Chief Chemist
- Complete the Provisional & Certified Training Programs
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to comply with emission standards
- Adjust processing parameters to achieve desired results as directed by Supervisors or Process Engineer
- Work closely with Process Engineer to verify Process Expert functionality; communicate concerns or malfunctions to Supervisors or Process Engineer
- Communicate process concerns to Shift Supervisor and team members as needed
- Pass down operational information to relief shift members
- Maintain required processing and emission logs
- Perform periodic inspections of field conveyors’ electrical gauges, bearing temperatures, oil temperatures, and related equipment data
- Analyze and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components
- Inspect performance of equipment maintenance and repair
- Inspect gates, valves, and chutes for proper operations and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect pre‑heater to ensure proper material flow and make adjustments as needed
- Transfer raw materials using mobile equipment
- Operate Callahan Lift truck as needed
- Conduct silo and bin measurements as specified for the shift
- Help keep machinery clean and maintain general workplace cleanliness
- Operate as Shift Lead as business needs require
- Complete additional duties assigned by supervisor
- Ability to read, write, and interpret warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- High school graduation or equivalent required
- Minimum three years of processing experience with responsibility for mechanical and electrical systems, preferably in a cement or related industrial plant facility
- Extensive knowledge of plant operations and processes
- Ability to operate PLC systems, use general hand tools, and safely operate plant processing equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong logic, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to monitor all production processing functions to maintain efficiency and quality standards
- Physical ability to walk, climb, bend, push, pull, work in awkward positions, and lift objects up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work at heights up to 250 feet
Job hazards include frequent exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, and all weather conditions. This position is classified as safety‑sensitive in accordance with WA Senate Bill 5123.
