Manager, Software Engineering; Hands-On | Cloud SaaS | AI-Driven Development

Overview

100% Remote role hosted by Jobot. This position is in the Healthtech space and involves leading a cloud-based healthcare product as an Engineering Leader, guiding architecture, code quality, and engineering standards while growing a team of engineers.

We are hiring a hands-on Engineering Leader to own and scale a critical product, leading a team of 10–15 engineers while driving technical direction and delivery. This is not a people manager-only role; you will act as a technical authority, owning architecture and standards, while also managing team performance, hiring, and execution.

• Lead and develop a team of 10–15 engineers (full-stack, backend, Dev Ops)
• Own technical direction, architecture, and delivery for a modern SaaS platform
• Drive code quality, design reviews, and engineering standards
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Customer teams
• Manage full team lifecycle: hiring, performance, growth, and retention
• Balance feature delivery, scalability, and technical debt
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.)
• Implement AI across:
  Code generation, Testing, Documentation
• Define best practices for secure and responsible AI usage
• Measure impact on velocity, quality, and developer experience

• 10+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years managing teams of 8+ engineers
• Proven hands-on technical leader (not just a facilitator)
• Strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Background in SaaS / distributed systems / APIs / microservices
• Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.)
• Ability to own a product end-to-end, not just contribute

• Experience building cloud-native healthcare platforms
• Startup or high-growth environment experience

• Backend: .NET, Java, Node.js, Python
• Frontend:
  React (or similar)
• Cloud: AWS / Azure / GCP
• Dev Ops: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
• Architecture:
  Microservices, APIs, distributed systems
