Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Position Summary

Penske Truck Leasing in DT Seattle seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants for the unique role of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). The position is responsible for delivering vehicles and returning them to Penske locations and customers. Primarily it involves moving our box trucks up to 26’ and, for CDL Class A holders, tractor and trailer movement. The role may also assist the service department with parts and equipment deliveries.

This is a casual/on‑call part‑time truck driving job ideal for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and working anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report any issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
• Ability to work independently with strong customer service, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency required (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential job function.
• Drivers must maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR checks, a completed DOT Physical, Safety Performance History from prior employers, and a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start, subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel, work required schedule, complete employment application, submit to background investigation and drug screening.

• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms.
• Must regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit vehicle and rear cargo area.

$23.00/hr Class A
