THE SCHOOL BOARD OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY

POSITION TITLE:
Secretary


ASSIGNMENT:
Secretary 3 - Guidance


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years experience in a clerical, secretarial or administrative assistant position
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential functions and tasks which may include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force as frequently as necessary; lifting, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, and pushing, if required
  • Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening
  • ADDITIONAL DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated skill in using office equipment (i.e., copiers, phones, calculators, computers, FAX machines).
  • Basic knowledge of appropriate office practices and procedures.
  • PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Secretary to Guidance Counselors.
  • Greets incoming public, teachers, and students in guidance office.
  • Answers incoming calls.
  • Assists with student registration.
  • Schedules parent/teacher conferences.
  • Backup for Front Desk Secretary.
  • Backup for Data Operator.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal and Assistant Principal.
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

    Performs all other duties as assigned by the Administrator

    TERM:

    Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

    APPRAISAL:

    Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board policies

    PAYGRADE:

    According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Salary Schedule
